Welcome to my website! I hope that you will find it an informative tool in finding out a bit more about the use of acupuncture and how this treatment may be able to help you.
Its benefits have been receiving more and more media coverage in recent times and is sometimes branded as a ‘wonder cure’, whilst other journalists or ‘researchers’ have purposefully sought out to undermine it’s positive actions. My own comment to this is purely to ask the recipient to keep an open mind. The positive effect of acupuncture varies on a case-by-case basis and as your practitioner, I will be able to give you a rough idea of how well I would expect you to respond. If I feel that acupuncture is not the right treatment for you, then I will refer you onto an alternative type of therapy.
Members of the BAcC have completed a thorough training of at least three years in traditional acupuncture and bio-medical sciences appropriate to the practice of acupuncture. The BAcC maintains common standards of education, ethics, discipline and practice to ensure high standards in the practice of acupuncture and health and safety of all its members. They are also ensure that their members are fully insured and conform to local regulations.
I request that a minimum of 24 hours notice is given in cases of cancellations or rescheduling. I run a very busy practice and operate a waiting list, hence sufficient time is required to enable the reception at Mulberry House to contact those patients who are waiting for an appointment. If the requested cancellation time is not given or if the patient does not show up for their treatment, then the FULL treatment fee is automatically charged. (Note that the therapist incurs expenses with each appointment made). No exceptions are made for any circumstances, including work, bereavement, illness etc. Please note that failure to pay the cancellation fee will result in small claim proceedings via the Sheriff Court in Edinburgh.
