Lena has carried out almost 500 hours of yoga teacher training:
* Hatha (RYT200): Rainbowlight Yoga School. One-to-one training with Sunshine Ross. The poses work by opening the chakras, one by one, from mulladhara to sahasrara, i.e. root to crown. The aim is to stretch, twist and shake each chakra point to allow the energy to flow through the central channel by straightening the left and right channels that choke the central one. This is based on the yogini, Lady Niguma's system of yoga who appeared 1000 years ago. In Tibetan Vajrayana tradition, she was a beloved spirit who taught yoga to help the emotions and open the heart.
*Aerial Yoga: Rooted within Hatha yoga, it uses a soft fabric hammock suspended a few feet off the ground. The hammock is a prop like a strap or block, intended to assist alignment, deepen awareness and provide the immediate benefit of spinal decompression. Training was done with Gillian Watt of Aerial Steps Edinburgh.
* Forrest Yoga (RYT200): Developed by Ana Forrest, Forrest Yoga is an up-to-date, remedial, therapeutic and dynamic form of yoga. It encompasses a thorough understanding of functional anatomy; hands on assists; intelligent sequencing; focussed breathing and being true to yourself."Connection over Perfection". It's open to all levels with clever options of down-levelling and up-levelling poses. Trained by Ana Forrest at Eden Studios in Berlin.
